In Our Community

Over the years we have made it a goal of Mattox Dog Training Academy to give back.

In 2023 we finalized the training of a therapy dog with service dog training and donated him to the West Richland police Department. Polar Was sworn in on March 16th, 2023, and has been out in the community serving officers and residents alike.

Not only are we partnered with Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue, but we are actively fostering Gloria and Willow until they can find their new homes. Over the years we have fostered 4 other dogs from them to ensure they had a place to call home until they found their person.

In June 2023 a malnourished Belgian Malinois was found wandering around Pasco, Washington. Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue brought her to us at the time she weighed 21lbs the same as an 8-week-old German Shepherd puppy. We fostered her and with support from the community donations brought her slowly back to a healthy weight. She was then adopted and found her forever home in September.

We also work closely with Tri-Cities Animal Shelter and being a foster for them allows us to work with dogs that may otherwise not have a place to go while awaiting adoption.
