Why It Matters
Here at Mattox Dog Training Academy, the mental well-being of our first responders is something we strongly believe in. Too many times, when the conversation is had about post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mental health, and suicide, our first responders are forgotten. We appreciate all our first responders do in and around our community and realize the stress and pressure of being the first on scene day in and day out can be life-altering. That is why we strive to donate Facility Dogs to departments and organizations that support first responders each year.
Bringing Support, Independence, and Love
Facility Dog- Application & Information
Our Facility Dog Program is available to departments and organizations that support first responders. If you are interested in bringing a Facility Dog to your organization, please complete an application. Due to limited resources, we are currently able to offer one sponsored partnership each year at no cost. Additional organizations are welcome to apply and may participate by covering the training and placement expenses associated with the program.

Empower lives
Service and Facility Dog Spotlight
Polar
In 2023 we finalized the training of a therapy dog with service dog training and donated him to the West Richland police Department. Polar was sworn in on March 16th, 2023, and has been out in the community serving officers and residents alike.
Bunker *In Progress*
Bunker is a Bernedoodle currently participating in our Facility Dog training program. Upon successful completion of his training, he will be placed with Chaplain Services Network, with an anticipated placement timeframe of 2027–2028.
LT (Lieutenant)
In the first half of 2024, Mattox`s Dog Training Academy LT (Lieutenant) was given to a First Responder.
Phantom
In the second half of 2024, Mattox`s Dog Training Academy Phantom was given to another First Responder.
Mace * in Progress*
Meet Mace, a Bernedoodle puppy who is just starting his training journey. He is currently being trained for future placement with Thin Line Therapy 206, with an anticipated placement date of 2028–2029 upon completion of his program.
Molly
In October 2024, Marysville, WA’s police department purchased Molly, a facility dog born, raised, and trained by Mattox’s Dog Training Academy.
